Exciting times – book launch and baby news!

I know I haven’t written for a while but I bring exciting news: ‘Cruelty’ is less than three weeks away from publication!

Waaaaaaah *dances around in small circles then falls down*

Ahem. Sorry. ‘Cruelty’ is officially published on the 28th February and I will be holding a book launch at my local Church hall, in Grangetown, Cardiff. I will be doing readings and signing copies of the book. If you’d like to attend, here are the details. If you can’t attend but would like a signed copy of the book, PM me on my Facebook page and we can arrange it. The book will be £9.99 + postage. I need to double check costs but for the UK it looks to be around £3.20. It will be more for International mail. Please let me know ASAP as I need to let my publisher know how many copies need to be ordered for this initial batch.

‘Cruelty’ will also be available from Waterstones, Amazon and a few other places as well if you love it and think it would make a good present for someone else.

Squee. So excited! The feedback has been really good so far and the sequel is well underway but that’s another post for another day.

There is more happiness winging the Grimbold way. Specifically the family way.

Sammy, amazing publisher, is expecting a baby on 10th August. But there’s more. I am expecting a baby too, due on the 16th July. Grimbold’s Grimbabies! We have already started thinking about making baby clothes and writing a Grimbold Babies adventure series. I kid, but it’s not a bad idea…

We found out about Baby Peanut in November. We had an inkling because I made a peanut butter and chilli sauce sandwich and a few days later, the double lines appeared on the test.

Some of you may remember a post from October, when we were up in Scotland for my niece’s baptism that we suffered from a miscarriage last June. We didn’t know anything was wrong until we went for our 12 week scan. We were really nervous in the lead up to the scan but amazingly relieved when we saw Peanut on the screen.

Peanut yawned and stretched during the scan. It was utterly amazing to see our little baby on the screen and to see them move. It’s about three weeks until our anomaly scan and, God willing, everything will be all right, hopefully we’ll be able to find out the sex. We won’t be telling the family, as they’d like it to be a surprise. I heard the baby’s heartbeat on Thursday last and it was utterly amazing.

My cousin is also expecting in July. She’s going to be having twins! And her little boy is only 2! Summer is clearly the time to have babies.

I’ll keep you updated on how things go, book and baby wise.
