I know I’ve had another long break between blog posts but exciting things have been happening. We bought a house! Yes, I am a home owner. Exciting times. I will tell you all about it another time but while the baby is asleep, I have one vexation I must share with you:
My new home has a hydrangea plant. That’s right. A hydrangea. You may have gathered from ‘Cruelty’ that I am not a fan of these. I don’t know what it is, but I hate them. I remember them being in the garden of the Rectory of Kesh when I was small so maybe something traumatic happened involving a hydrangea, I don’t know, but I can’t stand them.
And this one is at the front. It mocks me when I leave in the morning and mocks me on my return.
As you can see from the picture, there are no blooms on it yet but I bet you they will be bright pink. Now to be honest, I actually quite like white hydrangeas, they are less offensive to my eye. But you can be guaranteed that these will be the most gaudy pink flowers ever.
Faroust would be laughing his head off, especially considering what Eliza does to his favourite plant.
Now, I know I can just dig it up and get rid of it but a plant that size is actually quite old. I don’t know if I can bring myself to destroy something based purely on the fact I think it’s ugly. So I shall just have to be vexed and hope it dies of natural causes. Or isn’t pink.
Until next time,
(P.S. I am aware of how bizzare I am being. 😂)
